Briefing

As part of our group project, we are expected to visit Kampung Morten in Melaka to investigate the site's typology, culture, and traditions as well as possible sustainable strategies, demographics, and site analysis and synthesis.
Our 16-person group must create a presentation slide with the following information: history, genius loci, site data, kampung Morten analysis and synthesis, and our designated location, Site A.

Groups allocated to the same site work together to develop site drawings, sections, and macro and micro site models.B

KAMPUNG MORTEN

Malay kampung Morten has been around for more than a century. I became fully involved in the people, culture, and rich history of this kampung.
The people living there originally came from Kampung Jawa, which is a few hundred metres from Kampung Morten's present location. For various reasons, during the British occupation, they were forced to leave and established what is now known as Kampung Morten.

The kampung's focus shifts periodically, moving from the river to the land and then back to the tourism. It was from this that we found our genius loci, the river life.

REFLECTION

On this occasion I learned how to communicate and focus on each tasks given by my leader and how to cooperate with each sub group. Because this is big group project that requires many critical thinking. and exploring the site A, and overall Kampung Morten. Meeting local people for interview regard the tangible or intangible has taught me to be brave and serious, discipline for what we are doing on this site analysis project.
